The weekend that was, full of action!

Another great weekend of sport we just had, so many great matches. There’s a lot to talk about, so lets get a move on.

Let’s start off with some action from the UK. Sunday morning our time, we got to witness some giant killing. The FA Cup had Wigan take on one of the super clubs Manchester City. No one really gave Wigan much of a chance of winning. But they came through with the goods and took the Cup home.

In the AFL, we now only have 1 undefeated side left. Geelong was just too bloody for Essendon. The game was very entertaining and there was a bit of a contest. But the Cats just showed there class and really cemented themselves as an early premiership favourite.

Over to the NRL and you know it, I’m going to talk about the Melbourne Storm again. This time the Storm took on the Penrith Panthers. It seemed like an easy win for the Premiers, but that was not the case. The Panthers got the early jump on the Storm in the first half and despite a gallant come back in the second half from the Storm, the Panthers held on to deliver the Storm their second loss in a row.

To the Super Rugby now and the Waratahs continue punish sides as they keep getting closer to the top 6. This time the victims were the Stormers. Once again Israel Falou was just to good for the Waratahs and he has got to be certain for a Wallabies to take on the Lions.

Lets head to the US, and in the NBA, one of the Championship favourites the Oklahoma Thunder look like they might be leaving the playoffs a little early this year, as the Memphis Grizzlies take a 3 to 1 lead in their series. The Thunder are with out all star Russell Westbrook due to injury, but they still have one of the best players in the league, Kevin Durant. Lets hope the thunder can turn things around and make this series interesting.

Keeping in things in the NBA, how sweet are their cheerleaders. While the playoffs are still on, I think we’ll be seeing a lot of them.
