So lets start with the AFL shall we? The last round of the season had it all, close games, thrashings and even a few upsets. So where does this leave us for the finals? Well the first game sees the Swans take on the Hawks at the G on Friday night. This is a tough one to pick, because both teams are in good form, but I have a feeling the Hawks will win this one, even without Buddy. Next up the Cats take on the Dockers down in Geelong. Now even though the Dockers upset the Cats in the last finals match they played, I can’t see the Cats losing this one. The next match sees everyone’s favourite Collingwood, take on the Power at the G. Most people’s money would probably be on the Pies, but I can smell an upset and I reckon the Power is going to win this one. Finally on Sunday, Richmond takes on Carlton. To me this is a no brainer, the Tigers will win this one easy. After watching Carlton just win last week to make it into the finals, I can’t really see them perform a second miracle.

In the NRL now and this week sees the last round of their season. All eyes are on the Rabbitohs vs the Roosters this weekend, who ever wins this game will be the minor premiers. I can’t really call it, both teams have been playing great rugby, but for me I think the bunnies will win, that is if they don’t choke (which they are known to do). Also keep an eye on the Knights, the Cowboys, the Titans and the Warriors. These four teams will be fighting it out for the finally 2 spots in the finals. Anyone could get in because 3 of the 4 teams have pretty easy matches, except for the poor old Titans, they have to play the mighty Storm and after the Storms piss poor performance last week against Manly, you can bet they wont be making it easy for the Titans.

Finally I thought we should mention how well, the Aussies are doing over in the UK now. Our Ashes campaign wasn’t very good, but now that we’re playing the T20’s and ODI’s we can finally look forward to a couple of wins. The first T20 was brilliant to watch. If you weren’t up that early in the morning, you missed Aaron Finch smash the Poms all over the park, he hit a world record 156 off 63 balls. Below is a video of pretty much every run he made. It was an awesome innings.

So fill your fridge full of beer, sit back and enjoy your weekend of finals footy.
