Eggs and Sport! You’ve gotta love Easter.

How good is Easter! Public Holidays, eggs, beers with ya mates and so much sport to watch, it’s almost like heaven! So where do we start. Since we’re still in the first round of the AFL, lets start there.

So far we’ve had 4 games in the first round of the AFL and to be honest, there has been a few surprises. Essendon beat Adelaide, Richmond beat Carlton and now the Western Bulldogs beat the Brisbane. Lets hope the rest of the rounds matches are just as exciting and surprising.

Super Rugby time, and the Queensland Reds headed across the ditch to play the Highlanders. The Reds have never beaten the Highlanders on home soil. Wade Cooper rallied his troops and the Reds won what was a great game of rugby.

Easter means the Stawell gift is on. This year, the 4th fastest man on this planet Asafa Powell from Jamaica, is running. The heats were today and all eyes were on Asafa. He didn’t win but he did make it through to the semi finals. Can he win? Time will tell, but we think he can.

The A-League’s final round kicked off this weekend and all eyes were on the Western Sydney Wanderers. Could they beat Newcastle and win the minor premiership in their first year of the A-League. Well the Wanderers did not disappoint their fans by demolishing the Jets 3-0. I for one hope they can keep this form up in the finals.

If you can’t tell yet, I’m a bit of a Melbourne Storm fan. The Storm headed up to Brisbane on Good Friday to play the Broncos, I was a bit worried. But the boys didn’t disappoint, coming from behind, the Storm came through and disappointed all those bloody Queenslanders and demolished the Bronco’s.

Easter also means the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach is on and the best surfers in the world are down at Torquay, smashing a few VB’s and catching many a wave. Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson the flying the flag for the Aussie’s and doing a great job. But as per usual, they have to beware of one of the best athletes in the world Kelly Slater. The guy is still surfing like a champ and he is going to be hard to beat.

Finally we just have to mention how excited we are. There is only one more day to go until the Lingerie Football League starts up again. It really is a great way to watch gridiron.
